The responsibility of this Analyst will be to support the Manager of pricing through competitive analytics and building/implementing pricing strategies to ensure our offers and pricing strategies are well positioned for sales in all channels and markets. This will be accomplished through the analysis of competitive threats/opportunities, customer-based data, financial data, demand trends and competitive/market dynamics to identify and action new pricing and gap closure initiatives. In order to be successful, this person will have an in-depth knowledge and watch on competitors in the Canadian market and knowledge of key pricing strategies.
Analysis
- Provide regular and ad hoc pricing analysis and reporting for marketing and operations teams to assist with future pricing strategies.
- Support the Manager, Pricing to develop and implement product price strategies including segment strategies for the various markets and channels.
- Analyze competitors' pricing activities to evaluate the level of threat they pose to various channels and markets .
- Maintain product level view of competitive pricing and identify opportunities for growth in conjunction with the Manager.
- Analyze customer data, financial data, demand trends, and industry dynamics to identify and provide recommendations to pricing team.
- Analyse communication response rates and channel conversion rates to assess the impacts of offer actions on channel performance and tactics.
- Develop SQL queries, reports, excel models as needed to support various programs/campaigns.
Acquisition
- Manage the rate code process from the marketing side for all acquisition related pricing activities.
- Monitor the execution of price strategy and report on pricing performance versus expectations.
- Manage a centralised database of all offers and pricing strategies for various channels and markets.
- Work with cross functional teams and various channels to socialize pricing strategies, new rate codes and help launch new offers into the marketplace.
- Responsible for providing the analysis required to support gap closure/competitive response, competitive tracking, regional pricing, and specialized pricing.

- Consumer targets.
- Average Revenue Per Account / ARPU.
- Primary Subscribers Units (PSU).
Year 1 Deliverables
- Build standardised models to quickly analyse pricing changes and their impact internally and in the market.
- Build a competitive pricing database to track changes in the marketplace.
- Improve time to market by improving process in rate code alignment.
- Help develop and implement offers to meet customer, revenue, cost and profitability targets.
Other Key accountabilities
- As part of his/her function, incumbent must take all necessary measures to ensure their health and safety at work and that of employees under their responsibility, while seeing to the protection of the general public. They must make sure employees under their responsibility comply with all Health & Safety instructions, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- To support Cogeco’s ultimate goal of providing excellent service to current and potential customers, the incumbent must be constantly attentive and responsive to both external and internal customers’ needs and assist in the resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner while ensuring that the solution meets the customer’s needs.

ACADEMIC TRAINING
- University Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- MBA is an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a large tele/cable communications company mandatory. Pricing strategy experience within the industry is a requirement.
- 5-10 years’ experience in an analytical function required.

- Advanced knowledge in performing data analysis using SQL, Excel, Access or related tools
- Ability to make business recommendations that will drive the development of offers, pricing and services to meet consumer needs, as well as profitability targets.
