As the lead web designer at Cogeco Connexion you will join the XP Team (Usability, Design and Content strategist) tasked with evolving the Cogeco customer experience across all digital touchpoints through the design of innovative products and services representation online, intuitive shopping flows and simple, insightful support content

As an Experience Designer you will create engaging user interfaces, while partnering with Program Owners, Product Managers to lead web design efforts for Cogeco’s products and services. Your work will focus on connecting the user experience to the Cogeco brand and our customers through elegantly crafted design frameworks that translate across lines of business.

Your work will span the design process, from front end design contribution to agile development and implementation, which will give you the opportunity to be hands-on, as you help craft a scalable design system that seamlessly integrate across channels and develop innovative and engaging product experiences for customers

You are comfortable thinking on your feet and handling complexity, communicate confidently, concisely, and clearly. You produce sound, effective design solutions, and collaborate with your team to come up with ideas.

You are interested in retail and sales campaigns, bring new ideas and ways to sell products to new and existing customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help craft the visual user interfaces for Cogeco’s digital products to support a customer’s path through a system and ensure satisfying interactions and an overall experience that transforms customers into advocatesPartner with UX design, IT, Business, and Research teams to gain an understanding of the strategy, architecture, business, technical, and end user needs to help generate design solutions that elevate our customer experience and brand value.
  • Use customer-driven insights and agile methodologies to deliver elegant and delightful customer experiences.
  • Create and maintain UI/UX design documentation including style/brand guides, design frameworks, prototypes to aid with cross-team communication, collaboration, and development.
  • Partner with design researchers, UX and Content strategists to understand business goals and customer needs that inform intelligent design thinking across our digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with IT to understand technical constraints and opportunities, ensuring designs are implementable, scalable, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with business leads to understand our customer and business objectives for the present and future of Cogeco digital products.
  • Assist in team work sessions that drive ideation and present design work to team members, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Participate in Design Sprint Sessions to help craft ideas and new ways to interact with customers.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Sciences, Communication Design, or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of design experience with creating experiences, services and applications across platforms (mobile, tablet, desktop), for large audiences.
  • Experience in core design skills including the development of scalable design systems, intuitive interaction models, information architecture, user flows, pattern guides, motion graphic studies and product features.
  • Impeccable design sense and a keen eye for detail as it relates to creating delightful digital products.
  • Knowledge with human-centered design methodologies, empathy for end users, and passion for learning from others to shape process and culture.
  • Experience in core design and prototyping tools including Sketch, InVision, Photoshop.
  • Fluent in French and English, spoken and written.
